#General information
Arrival and Check-in
QUT Gardens Theatre is located in X-block next to the City Botanic Gardens, at QUT’s Gardens Point Precinct, 2 George Street, Brisbane. It is recommended you arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts to allow time for check-in and seating.
Latecomer Policy
Please note that there is a strict lock-out period for latecomers to all Queensland Ballet performances.
Program
Complimentary printed programs will be distributed at the theatre with information about the performance.
What to wear
Smart casual dress is perfect. You may want to bring a light wrap or jacket, as the theatres are air conditioned.
During the Performance
Please relax and enjoy the performance! Our dancers love to hear you respond and applaud as it lets them know you appreciate their artistry and are enjoying the production.
Please remember to turn off all mobile phones and electronic devices before the performance begins. Please note photography and filming is not permitted during the performance.
#COVID-Safe Information
For the safety of all patrons, please do not attend if you are feeling unwell and have any symptoms of COVID-19.
QUT Gardens Theatre is operating under an approved COVIDSafe industry plan, which includes increased cleaning, contactless service and social distancing measures. All patrons are required to follow the COVIDSafe guidelines and any directions from staff at the theatre.
Have your tickets ready on your phone or bring your print-at-home ticket with you for scanning by our staff. We are unable to issue printed tickets at the Box Office.
Please arrive and depart in your social group. You must remain 1.5m from everyone not in your social group once inside the building.
Use the provided hand sanitiser on entry or wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, especially on arrival and before eating or drinking.
Masks are recommended in indoor spaces where you can't physically distance.
Please remain seated after the performance and show your appreciation to the performers non-verbally i.e. by applause or stamping your feet.
Observe physical distancing and follow signage and staff directions regarding entry and exit procedures.
At the event
- The Patron is responsible for having their ticket/s available on their phone or printed out, with the barcode/s clearly visible, for scanning at the door. Tickets will not be reprinted at the Venue.
- Patrons must not attend if they are sick or have been overseas in the previous fortnight.
- Patrons who are unwell will not be able to attend the event, and a full refund will be provided.
- Patrons agree to abide by all social distancing and health protocols.
- Patrons agree to follow the instructions of venue staff at all times.
- If patrons do not comply with protocols, or authorised requests, they will be asked to leave immediately without refund or further recourse.
- Refunds or exchange of tickets will be available to any customer who has developed any Covid-19 symptoms after the purchase of tickets, or who has come into contact with anyone who is symptomatic or is a confirmed case.
- Patrons acknowledge that while the Venue has taken all reasonable health and safety precautions to keep the audience, staff and performers safe, patrons enter the Venue at their own risk without recourse to claim against the Venue regarding health outcomes.
#Parking and Transport
Public transport
QUT Gardens Point is very well serviced by public transport. We suggest using the Translink Journey Planner to plan your visit.
Parking
Pay-on-exit public car parks are available within a short walking distance of Gardens Theatre. A car park is located underground in the Science and Engineering Centre (P-block) and under the Riverside Expressway. Visit the QUT Facilities Management page for up-to-date information on casual parking locations and fees.
As with most public car parks, availability during busy periods and university semesters is limited. Several Pay Stations, which accept both cash and card, are located in and near the car parks.
On foot
There is pedestrian access from the city centre via George Street, or from Southbank Parklands via the Goodwill Bridge. Both are a short walk to QUT Gardens Point campus.
#Dining and Refreshments
QUT Gardens Theatre is located a short walk from the CBD and across the river from South Bank if anyone wishes to have a meal before or after the performance.
#Accessibility
QUT has an ongoing commitment to ensure that all buildings are accessible for visitors who use a wheelchair or motorised scooter. A taxi drop off and short-term parking zone (5 minutes) is located outside Parliament House in George Street, a short distance from Gardens Theatre. There are a number of designated Disability Parking bays exclusively reserved for visitors who hold a Disability Parking permit.
