Senior Program
Level 2 2020; Level 3 2019
Blenheim, New Zealand
âWhen one of my dance idols, Lucy Green was moving from the Royal New Zealand Ballet to Queensland Ballet, I started researching the company she would be joining, which led me to attend Queensland Ballet Academyâs Summer School in 2018. From there, I was offered a place to train in the Senior Program, Level 3.
My experience at the Academy has been wonderful â I learn something new about myself as a dancer and person every day! The greatest part has been the immense care that Queensland Ballet Academy has for us students. They are extremely professional and empathetic. When I injured myself in my first year, they immediately introduced me to a rehabilitation program, provided access to their gym facilities and offered weekly physiotherapy sessions. Despite my injury, my teachers were inclusive in classes and offered encouraging advice while I recovered. My new friends at the Academy were also an endless support system for me and continue to be today.
Through my Academy training experience, I have strengthened my grit, perseverance and appreciation for our beautiful artform. I have come to learn there are endless possibilities to what my body can achieve and how it works. Itâs been an amazing journey!â
