Academy students perform in Romeo & Juliet
As the curtain came down on Queensland Ballet’s full-scale production of Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo & Juliet on the weekend, many young Queensland Ballet Academy students were left reeling with immense inspiration and gratitude, having just shared the stage alongside the Company throughout its Lyric Theatre season.
During the production period, a number of dancers from the Academy’s Associate, Senior and Pre-Professional Programs, were immersed within the professional environment working under the Company’s renowned Artistic staff and international guest creatives such as Leanne Benjamin and Julie Lincoln from The Royal Ballet.
It is these invaluable opportunities enabled by Queensland Ballet Academy’s intimate connection with the Company, that undoubtedly enhance its students’ development and its graduates preparedness for entering the profession.
Also appearing as Character Artists in Romeo & Juliet, were Academy Director Christian Tátchev, alongside wife and colleague, Academy Teacher Zenia Tátcheva.
