âI have been surrounded by dance my whole life, so my passion for ballet was ignited at a young age. When I started training at my local dance studio, I was inspired by another male dancer there who ended up joining Queensland Ballet. Following in his footsteps, I attended Queensland Ballet Academyâs Summer School, and was then offered a place in the Senior Program in 2018.
I never thought when I first joined the Academy that I would be given the opportunity to perform with the Company. One of the highlights of my time here has been performing in Queensland Balletâs 2019 season of Romeo and Juliet. It was an amazing experience that gave us insight into what itâs like to be a part of a big production, in which I gained invaluable stage experience alongside professional dancers. Since joining, I have also been humbled to receive the 2019 Young Talent Award, and to represent Queensland Ballet Academy as an exchange student to Canadaâs National Ballet School.
Being selected as an exchange student to Canadaâs National Ballet School was an amazing opportunity that led to experiencing new styles of ballet training which increased my knowledge of this beautiful art form. Weâre so fortunate here at Queensland Ballet Academy to be given these invaluable global opportunities and Iâm very grateful to have been given this one to Canada.
I firmly believe that if you are planning on pursuing a career in ballet, then Queensland Ballet Academy is the right place to be. My teachers provide the highest quality of training in world-class facilities. I have been immersed in a caring environment and challenged every day while creating lifelong friendships along the way.â
