Lewis Formby

Introducing Lewis

Lewis was born in Wollongong and started dancing at the age of 3. After starting at such a young age, his love for dance was almost instinctual. He attended many local ballet schools in New Castle where he grew up, before he found the right fit at New Castle Ballet Theatre in 2013. 

After 4 years including 1 in full-time training, Lewis was accepted into The Australian Ballet School in 2017. He officially joined The Australian Ballet for their 2019 season.

Lewis joined Queensland Ballet as a Young Artist in 2020 and was promoted to Company Artist in 2022.

Did you know… 

Lewis has always enjoyed sports and other physical pursuits like football and karate. His current interest is going indoor rock climbing.
