Luke Fraser

Board Director

Luke Fraser is the Chief Executive Officer of Howard Smith Wharves, a fully integrated property and hospitality business. Having oversaw the redevelopment and delivery of the wharves, Luke now leads and oversees the operations of the precinct and 1,000+ staff of Felons Brewing Co, Felons Barrel Hall, Mr Percival's, Ciao Papi, HSW Events and the Story Bridge Adventure Climb.

Located beneath the Story Bridge, the 3.4ha riverfront wharves boasts 13 restaurants, cafes, bars, event spaces and a hotel. Along with the multi-awarded Felons Brewery at our heart, the wharves is dedicated to raising the bar on hospitality. As CEO Luke oversaw the response to the pandemic and recent floods to see Howard Smith Wharves emerge as one of the “must do” things in Brisbane. Passionate about the environment and local community Luke has been a driving force behind the wharves nationally awarded goal of one day becoming the most sustainable precinct on the planet and raising over $580,000 for local community groups and charities. Luke is most proud of the team culture that has seen the wharves become one of the fastest growing hospitality businesses in the country and create genuine career pathways for the hospitality industry.

As well as his experience at Howard Smith Wharves, Luke has spent 24 years working in the property industry and has been involved in several of Brisbane’s landmark development projects, and in February 2023 he was elected as Queensland President and to the National Board of the Property Council of Australia. Since 2020 Luke has been a Board Member of Easts Rugby Union.

Luke is hugely passionate about Brisbane and Queensland and loves rolling up his sleeves to get in involved in discussions about the future of Brisbane, the tourism sector, driving the economy, and now ensuring we leave a lasting legacy after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and perform. Long before we performed on this land, it played host to the dance expression of our First Peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders — past, present and emerging — and acknowledge the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to the cultural landscape of this country.
