#2023 Regional Community Engagement Tour
Providing life-long learning experiences and access to ballet across Queensland communities.
In 2023, Queensland Ballet’s Education Teaching Artists will visit over 30 locations across regional Queensland, and New South Wales. We are excited to hit the road again and spread the magic of ballet with people of all ages and abilities at In-school Workshops, Community Classes and Teacher PD Sessions. We invite young dancers aged 2 – 17 years, school and studio teachers and seniors to join us for a range of inclusive workshops that will get you moving and inspire your inner creativity. No previous dance experience is required.

From February to October 2023, Queensland Ballet will be touring Regional Locations through the generous support of Regional Councils.
Locations include:

March - Cairns, Mareeba, Townsville, Ayr, Mackay, Cannonvale, Proserpine, Sarina, Stanthorpe, Toowoomba

Free in-school workshops
Safe, educative and inclusive dance experiences for students in kindergartens and schools. These workshops link to the Early Years Learning Framework, Australian Curriculum and Senior Dance Syllabus, complementing the teaching and learning currently taking place in Queensland classrooms.
Online school workshops
Bring Queensland Ballet school dance workshops to your students virtually!
Queensland Ballet’s Online School Workshops are rigorously designed with the Australian Curriculum in mind, ensuring all workshops complement teaching and learning already taking place in the classroom.
Community ballet classes
For dancers 6 – 17 years of age, these community classes give participants a taste of all the fun Queensland Ballet has to offer. This is an inclusive experience focusing on exploring ballet technique.
Petit Pointers
Designed to stimulate the imagination, musicality and natural movement in children aged 2 – 5 years. All participants will have a joyous experience with an important carer in their life.
Ballet for seniors
Based on QB Ballet for Seniors program, this gentle class is especially tailored for adults to experience ballet, with a focus on improving poise, core strength, memory and mobility. Adults of all ages are welcome to attend.
Regional Teacher professional development
QB’s Teacher Professional Development sessions are designed to inspire, support and meaningfully contribute to your teaching practice whether you are an educator in a school, studio or community setting. No previous dance experience necessary.
